Prostrate cancer have many symptoms, and it can occur at old ages in life . Prostrate cancer occurs in the prostrate gland which is found in the male that secretes seminal fluids and transport sperms . The fluid is essential for reproduction. The prostrate gland is located in the pelvis below the bladder. Just below the prostrate are gland called seminal vesicles that produces most of the fluid for semen. Usually the prostrate gland grows slowly and it is confined to the prostrate gland .     Prostrate cancer develops primary in men above 50 years, it is the most common type of cancer in men In the USA with 18600 new cases in 2008 and 28600 deaths. It is the second leading cause of cancer death in US men after lung cancer . More than 80 percent of men will develop prostrate cancer in the age of 80 . However in the majority of case it will be slow growing and harmless .

    Risk factors of prostrate cancer.

  The main causes of prostrate cancer is unknown.But some of the risk factors may be possible for the cause of prostrate cancer. Some of the risk factors are;

 Age;prostate cancer occurs in men who are above 50 years and rare in younger men. The chance of getting prostrate cancer rises rapidly after age 50.

 Race; most often it affects African Americans me and in carribean men of African ancestry than in men of other race.

   Family history ;prostrate cancer may run in family due to inherited genetic factors 

 Other factors ;certain other factor such as obesity   increased calcium intake and dairy foods may increase the risk of prostrate cancer.

      Signs and symptoms of prostrate cancer .

   Symptoms of prostrate cancer in men canbe of a bladder and urinary problems that result in.

Difficult and and repeated urination, especially during the night. 

  Blood semen  

   Loss of control of the bladder

  Erectile dysfunction. 

Discomfort while in sitting posture, because of an enlargead prostrate  

Pain during ejaculation.


 Treatments and related complications

   Impotence,  loss of muscle,  diabetes,  difficulty in concentration 

   DIAGNOSIS and TREATMENT OF PROSTRATE CANCER  

ULTRASOUND ;ultrasound image shows the size, shapes and tumor activities of the prostrate cancer in adjacent tissue . 

  ACTIVE SURVEILLANCE ;active surveillance is recommended for cancer inthe early stages and growing slowly . 

 SURGERY CHEMOTHERAPY ;surgery involves the removal of the prostrate gland and its surroundings tissue. 

  CRYOTHERAPY ; uses very cold temperature to freeze the prostrate cancer cell to kill. 

    PREVENTION OF PROSTRATE CANCER  

 Follow a low fat diet 

  Take more fat from plant than from animal 

   Increase the number of fruits and vegetables you take per day. 

     Eat enough fish. 

      Do enough exercise  

       Reduce dairy products in a day.
