Your body development is mostly determined by what we eat and what we drink, so we should take precautions of what goes into our body as this may nourish our body or harm us. Food is essential for our body development and general well-being when taken in the right order or inthe right combination . There are foods which we are allergic to, that means our body react when we come in contact with those foods, while there are some that are beneficial as they nourishes our body . We should take more of food that are good for our well-being and avoid those that are not in good terms with our body system . Many consume foods without minding the after effects which it can bring to their health, there are foods which we should avoid, foods that can lower our health status, food such as ; foods that are high in cholesterol content, high in sugar, junk foods and stale foods,can cause greater harm to our life when taken in large quantities over a long period of time .


      Foods should be taken in moderate quantities, it should be distributed according to ages and nutrition reguirement of the individual as overdose can cause Discomfort to the body and under feeding can cause weakness and lack of nutrient for the body development making the individual to look haggard and poor . 

       There is need to eat properly not just any foods but foods that is balanced for healthy living.  When foods is taken inthe right order and at the right quantity it will help you live a healthy life as our body will be immune against disease causing germs. When eating we should not neglect any food classes as each of them has their own function on our health.

   Protein. 

     We should endeavour to eat foods rich in protein as it helps in building our body tissue and clotting our blood. Proteineous foods helps our body by building tissues that relevant to the normal functioning of our body. It also helps in blood clotting, this helps in clotting our blood to prevent more blood lose incase of injury. Foods rich in protein are;beans, cowpea, soybean, eggs, fish, avocado pear and some poultry products . 



    Carbohydrates . 

  Foods that belongs to this class are called energy giving foods as the supply the body with the necessary energy for its day to day activities.  They also help to keep our body warm.  We should increase the intake of this foods especially if we are involved in a strenuous activities or after exercise . Foods that are rich in carbohydrates are Rice, millet,  garri, cereal,  yam, potatoes and legumes. 


     Fat and oil. 

  Fatty foods are rich in oil which help in lubricating the body system, they provide warm and energy to the body in greater quantities. Fat and oil is the major supplier of energy and warm to the body systems . We should consume fat and oily foods in moderate quantities as lot of it can cause too much fat inthe body which are not good, it can also cause high cholesterol levels in the body . Foods rich in fat and oil are palm oil, vegetable oil, groundnut oil, Margarines, butter, cheese or their alternatives mostly reduced fat. 



   Mineral salt. 

    Foods in this class are called body protective foods because they in building the white blood cells to fight against disease causing germs . They build the immune system to be tough in disease causing pathogens. When you eat lot of foods rich in minerals salt your immune system will be strong but when you neglect it your body will be prone to constant illness sickness . Foods that are rich in mineral salt are vegetables and fruits . 

     Vitamin  

     They are also body protective foods which also helps in building the blood cells, they prevent against invaders in the body . Eating foods rich in vitamins are beneficial as they are good protector of the human body . Foods rich in vitamin A are good for good eyesight and great vision . Vitamin D is for good teeth and bone formation they are mostly gotten from the early morning sun rays. Foods rich in vitamins are fruits and vegetables and some vitamins supplements  

   Water. 

     Water is essential for blood formation as 90 percent of blood is made up of water . Water is also essential for the regulation of the body temperature. It also aid in the removal of waste products in the body system . We should drink atleast 2 litres of clean water per day as this will help our body to function appropriately .

     Major food we should eat regularly . 

   Fruits 

   Fresh fruits have many healthy benefits as they help in building the body tissues, most fruits have some medicinal values, such as lime, lemon, ginger and garlic . Fruits like apples are an excellent source of antioxidants which combat free radicals . Bioccoli provides a good amount of fibre, calcium for strong bones and teeth formation, potassium and phytonutrient. Ginger and garlic provides inflammatory benefits to the body systems . Also fruits such as mangoes, orange, grapes, watermelon, pawpaw, carrot, banana and blueberry. We should consume at least one of these fruits on a daily basis immediately after meals or before going to bed.

    Vegetables.

   Vegetables are green leaves that are body protective in nature. They can be eaten raw after been washed or used in cooking our meals. Some vegetables canbe squeezed and the water drank as medicines. Vegetables are mostly eaten by dietician, those watching their weight and for those seeking to reduce  their cholesterol levels. Vegetables to be eaten are pumpkin, spinach, gabbage and lettuce . 

    Milk. 

   Milk and yoghurt should be consumed regularly as it helps inthe healthy functions of the body system . When we take our milk cold it help our brain to function more appropriately. We should drink it after meals or after a strenuous work or an exercise . Milk helps in bone and teeth formation . To enjoy your milk you can take it together with your foods such as pap, tea, fruit salad or as a snack by taking it raw. 



     Water. 

    Water is necessary for the body metabolism, as it aid the removal of waste from the body . Water also aid in the removal of waste products from the body. We should drink lot of water to be healthy and refreshed. 

     Things we should avoid taking into our body system.

   * Avoid smoking ;too much smoking can damage the lungs causing lung cancer and other terminal diseases to the body. 
  *  Avoid too much alcohol ;taking too much alcohol can lead to alcohol poisoning which can cause confusion and disorientation, vomiting, inability to stay conscious, irregular pulse, depressed breathing and loss of bowel or bladder control . 
   *Never eat stale food. 
    *Don't starve yourself, eat enough food on a daily basis to avoid stomach ulcer. 
    *know what you are allergic to and avoid them. 
    *Don't eat late at night eat early so that the food can digest properly. 

    *consult a dieticians or a nutritionist and heed to their advice to  maintain a healthy life.
